Heritage Of Life
Rachel Busenitz

Lyrics

When Jesus was walking this earth long ago
He had a compassionate heart to bestow
On wee little children He placed on His knee
The future they grasped only He could foresee

We all have some children God’s placed in our lives
As brothers and sisters husbands and wives
We all have a choice will we cherish this gift
And teach them of Jesus their hearts to Him lift

Jesus loves me this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong

Yes Jesus loves me yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me the Bible tells me so

Let them come to Me please don’t send them away
They are gifts from My hands
Plant in them a vision a heritage of life
Mold them to follow My ways

About This Song

Mark 10:24
"But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God."

This song tells us how Jesus views children-as gifts given to us. As parents, God wants us to teach our children to follow Him and walk in His ways. As siblings, we are to encourage and help each other. We all are to cherish the gift of family that God has given us.
We hope that those who hear this song will come to view family as Jesus does.  Children are not simply a responsibility to be tolerated, but a Heritage of Life to be cherished.

We chose this song because we love children and want to remind others of the blessing that they bring to our lives.

As I Skip Along
Matthew Dickerson

Lyrics

As I skip along I hear the birds sing
Their song is so sweet  it makes me want to dance
The sky is so blue and the grass is so green
My heart’s filled with joy and it makes me want to sing

As I skip along I feel the breeze through my hair
I see the clouds in the air oh it does my heart so good
The sun’s in the sky it puts a twinkle in my eye
Such joy fills my heart and you may ask me why

When I skip along I feel my heart beat
My lungs are a-breathing I think Wow this is neat
I’m glad I am here it’s great to be alive
A miracle's at work that miracle's inside

Oh  I’ve been set free and life’s not the same
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb
No longer a slave to the sin that I knew
My heart’s been set free and now I can see
Praise God my life’s been renewed

About This Song

Colossians 3:10
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him."

When we accept the free gift of salvation, we become a new person.  We are no longer a slave to sin; we are set free by the blood of the Lamb. This song proclaims that truth!

We chose this song because it is fun to sing and has a great message!

Worthy to be Praised
Anna Craig

               Lyrics

Lord you are a Great God
And worthy to be praised
You made the stars the birds the trees
All the earth for us to see
I love you Lord I love you Lord
You’re worthy to be praised

  Lord you are so mighty
And worthy to be praised
The sun stands still at your command
You count all the grains of sand
I love you Lord I love you Lord
You’re worthy to be praised

  Lord you are so loving
And worthy to be praised
You sent Your Son to die for us
Suffering anguished on the cross
I love you Lord I love you Lord
You’re worthy to be praised

Lord you are so gracious
And worthy to be praised
Forgiving all our sinfulness
You impute Christ’s righteousness
I love you Lord I love you Lord
You’re worthy to be praised

About This Song

Psalm 18:3
"I will call upon the Lord who is worthy to be praised."

Anna wrote "Worthy to be Praised" in 2012. She wanted to write a song describing the attributes of God.
    God is Great!
He created the world for us.
    God is Mighty!
        He knows our innermost
thoughts. He is in control of
        the universe.
    God is Loving!
He died a terrible death so that
        we could have eternal life.
    God is Gracious!
When we believe on Him, He
        forgives our sinfulness through
        Christ's righteousness.

Have you accepted Christ's love and received the free gift of salvation?

We chose this song because God is worthy of our praise.  And because Anna wrote it and we like it a lot.  There aren't very many praise songs with the word "impute" in it!

On Our CD

Anna-lead vocals, flute, cello

Consecration
John Ness Beck

Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord to Thee
Take my moments and my days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise

Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee

Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my King
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from thee

Take my silver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect and use
Ev'ry power as Thou shalt choose

Take my will and make it Thine
It shall be no longer mine
Take my heart it is Thine own
It shall be Thy royal throne

Take my love my Lord I pour
At thy feet it's treasure store
Take myself and I will be
Every only all for Thee

 About This Song

2 Chronicles 29:31
"Ye have consecrated yourselves unto the LORD."

The word "Consecrated" means "holy" or "set apart". As Christians, we are to be set apart for Christ's service. This song is a beautiful declaration of the consecration of a life dedicated to Christ.

We chose this song because Laura sang it at our wedding.

Who Will Shine God's Light
Sarah & Grace Mally

This little light of mine I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine let it shine let it shine

In a world of darkness who will shine God’s light
Who will live for Jesus and follow what is right
Who will pay the price and follow in God’s way
Who will God find faithful on the judgment day

Who will be a Rebekah quenching others thirst
Who will be a Mary putting Jesus first
Who will be a Ruth with virtue of great price
Who will be an Esther laying down her life

Lord I will shine your light
With joy and a smile that’s bright
I will seek you all my days
For I want to learn your ways
In this world of night
Lord I will shine your light

         About This Song

Philippians 2:15
"That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world."

"Who will shine God's Light" in this fallen world of sin? Who will be bold and courageous enough to stand firm against evil and uphold the right? Who will pay the price and suffer for our Lord? Who will be joyful in tribulation? This song asks these questions. Will you shine God's light?

We chose this song because of the challenging questions it asks each one of us.

I Know It was God
Bob Puffer

Who put the leaves on the trees
And kept them all from falling
Who put the wind in the breeze
So it was softly blowing

Who made the butterfly soar
To tell creation’s story
Who made the plants and much more
So we could see His glory

And I know that Jesus died for me
It wasn't mother nature who died on Calvary

Who put the stars in the sky
And made them light the darkness
Who took the scales from my eyes
And healed me from my blindness

Who gave His life on the tree
So none would have to perish
Who spells it L-O-V-E
The One that we should cherish

I know it was God I know it was God
There’s no such thing as mother nature
I know in my heart that it was God

      About This Song

Genesis 1:1
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

The world believes the lie of evolution; that we - living, thinking, feeling humans, and the whole world around us - came from nothing and have no meaning. To the evolutionists, we are just a cosmic accident.
But the Bible says that God is the Creator, and that we are made in His image! We are special to God, and He loves us. He loved us enough to die on the cross for us. We are not meaningless beings and there is a purpose to life! There is no such thing as "mother nature." God is our true, heavenly Father. He created all things!

We chose this song because creation is ultimately a salvation issue, not merely an origins issue. Without creation, redemption's story is incomplete.

He Gave Himself
Nikki Lot

Before the fall of man God had a perfect plan
To fellowship with us was His desire
But Adam disobeyed to sin became a slave
Now a perfect sacrifice would be required
An offering must be made the sin debt must be paid
So God and man could reconciled be
So Jesus said I’ll go because He loved me so
He shed his blood and paid sin’s penalty

No greater love is known no greater love is shown
than when one lays his life down for a friend
But Jesus died for me when I was His enemy
A love like this I cannot comprehend

My nails were in His hands
My crown of thorns He wore

My stripes were on His back my heavy cross He bore
And when God turned His back
He turned it on my sin

Jesus won the victory that I could never win

He gave himself to pay the debt I could not pay
When I was lost He gave himself to be my way
Though I deserve to be upon the cross that day
In love He took my place and gave Himself

       About This Song

Galatians 1:4
"Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father."

Since Adam's sin in the Garden, man has been separated from God. Romans 3:23 says "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." And Romans 6:23 states "The wages of sin is death." We all fall short of the mark, and deserve eternal death.
Except...Jesus came to earth and died for our sins! He was the only one who could ever pay for the sins of the world. No one else lived a sinless life, so no one else could give themselves as a payment for the sin of the world.
He gave Himself to pay the debt no one else could pay. Jesus won the victory we could never win!

We chose this song because it beautifully tells the redemption story.

Sowing Love
Paul Overstreet

I used to love to walk behind my Daddy
As he plowed our garden every spring
Bare feet in the dirt would make me happy
As we talked about what harvest time would bring
He said Children this whole world is like a garden
And what you sow you’re surely gonna reap
Where bitter seeds are planted hearts will harden
But a caring hand will make the harvest sweet

He was sowing love for the family
He was sowing love
He took a little extra time
Looking forward to a bountiful harvest
Like a good Father does he was sowing love

I used to love to sit and watch my Mama
Working with her needle and her thread
So patiently she listened to our problems
And I knew she heard every word we said
She’d say Children this whole world is full of scratches
And in your life you’re bound to have a few
I guess that’s why the good Lord gave us patches
So we could start each day out feeling new

She was sowing love for the family
She was sowing love
She took a little extra time
Looking forward to a bountiful harvest
Like a good Mama does she was sowing love

They were sowing love for the family
They were sowing love
They took a little extra time
Looking forward to a bountiful harvest
Like a good family does they were sowing love

About This Song

Galatians 6:9
"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

This song highlights the word picture of sowing and reaping - an illustration used many times in the Scriptures to depict the consequences of our actions. What we do matters.
This applies to families in a very real way. If we take the time to love and teach and train, we have a good harvest. But when we sow bitterness, we reap hardened hearts and angry souls. It is our choice. Will you take the time to sow love in your home today?

We chose this song because we all need to be reminded of the important things in life.  And the mood of the home begins with the choices that Dad and Mom make every day.

Blessed
Tracey Craig McKibben

Unless the Lord builds a house
The work of the builders is wasted
Unless God protects a town
There’s no point in guarding the walls
It’s useless to labor from dawn until dusk
And anxiously work to succeed
For the Lord will supply every thing that you need
And bless you with all good things

O blessed are all that fear the Lord
For they who obey him are happy
And by their work they are satisfied
And God will make peace in their home
Their wife will be like a fruitful vine
Their children are like olive trees
And these are the blessings the Lord will provide
For God blesses them that fear Him

And children are a heritage from the Lord
And fruitfulness is His reward
They’re like arrows in an archer’s hand
And happy is the family who has their quiver full
For children are a heritage from the Lord

We are a heritage from the Lord
Given by God as His reward
And our parents are blessed
as they give God their best

And we come behind them
and follow their steps

For we are a heritage from the Lord
We’re a heritage from the Lord
They’re our heritage from the Lord

        About This Song

Psalm 127:3
"Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward."

George's sister, Tracy Craig McKibben, wrote "Blessed" for us in 2005. It is a paraphrase of the concepts in Psalm 127 and 128. In these Psalms, God shows us that children are our heritage. Children are blessings from God that we are called to nurture, train, and cherish.

We chose this song to encourage people to view children as blessings to cherish and not burdens to endure.

The Babies' Choice
Rachael, Anna & Celia Craig

Frightened and alone with nowhere else to go
Will abortion make my problems be okay
Or am I carrying a baby is there any way to know
Oh I just want this mess to go away

A baby is a person, even before birth
Fearfully and wonderfully made
But people in this world fail to recognize the worth
and the blessing of a precious unborn babe

Will you stand up for the right
For these babies we must fight
They are innocent, defenseless
perfect in God’s sight

If the babies had a choice
they would surely lift their voice
Would you take our lives away
Or will you save our lives today
That is why we need to pray

Will you save their lives today

          About This Song

Psalm 139:14
"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

In our country today, millions of innocent children are being murdered.  It all goes under the label "choice."
What about the babies' choice? They cannot protest against their own murderers. Unborn babies are people created in God's image. They are completely defenseless. Will you save their lives today?

He Loves Me Too
Maria Straub

God sees the little sparrow fall
It meets His tender view
If God so loves the little birds
I know He loves me too

He paints the lilies of the field
Adds perfume to each bell
If God so loves the little flowers
I know He loves me well

God made the little birds and flowers
And all things big and small
He'll not forget His little ones
I know He loves us all

He loves me too
He loves me too
I know He loves me too
Because He loves the little things
I know He loves me too

About This Song

Matthew 10:29
"Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father."

In Matthew 10, Jesus makes an illustration about sparrows. They aren't worth very much at all, but God still sees when they fall to the ground. How much more does He love us!
This song talks about God's care for even the smallest things of creation.

We chose this song so our little ones could sing of God's love for them.

Higher Ground
Johnson Oatman Jr.

I’m pressing on the upward way
New heights I’m gaining every day
Still praying as I’m onward bound
Lord plant my feet on higher ground

I want to live above the world
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled
For faith has caught the joyful sound
The song of saints on higher ground

I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright
But still I’ll pray till heaven I’ve found
Lord plant my feet on higher ground

Lord lift me up and let me stand
By faith on Heaven’s tableland
A higher plane than I have found
Lord plant my feet on higher ground

       About This Song

Philippians 3:14
"I press toward the mark for the prize of the High Calling of God in Christ Jesus."

This song, "Higher Ground", carries the message of perseverance. With the Lord's help, we should strive to live above the world, grow in Him, and better ourselves for Christ's service.

We chose this song because we love singing this fun arrangement as a family.

Come See The Lamb
Tom Marshall

Imagine how the shepherds must have felt that holy night
To see the angels fill the starry sky
They watched their sheep as they had done
so many nights before

And now the Lamb had come from up on high

Come see the Lamb the Great I AM
They led the shepherds to Emmanuel
Come see the King good news we bring
Salvation has been born in Israel

For unto you is born this day a Savior Christ the Lord
Fear not behold I bring to you great joy
You’ll find the babe in Bethlehem upon a manger bed
And this child will one day sin’s curse destroy

The Lamb of God’s in heaven now upon his throne on high
And one day he will call his children home
The trump will sound the dead will rise
in the twinkling of an eye

And on that day his power will be made known

We’ll see the Lamb the Great I AM
He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords
All sorrow past we’re home at last
And we will reign with Him forevermore

About this Song

John 1:29
"The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."

Before the time of Christ, the Israelites were required to sacrifice a spotless lamb as a temporary means of  reconciliation with God. This lamb prefigured the ultimate Sacrifice that would come. Today, Jesus is the complete and perfect payment for our sins.
Although Jesus was God, the Son chose to humble himself by leaving heaven coming to earth in the form of a helpless baby to die for the sins of the world. Because of the sacrifice that Jesus made, we have the hope of eternal life with Him in heaven-our eternal home. We will see the Lamb of God!

We chose this song because it was a majestic way to end our first CD.  This song's message really speaks to our hearts and we hope it does to yours also.

The Christian's Hope

"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
1 Corinthians 15:51-52
