Heritage Hill Music
Welcome! We are excited to tell you a little more about our family. Our site name is Heritage Hill Music because we call our homestead Heritage Hill.
"Children are an Heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is His reward." Psalm 127:3
We have been singing as a family for as long as any of the children can remember. Whether it was while we worked, played, or just stood around the piano, music has always been a big part of our every day life. We are happy to share some of our lives with you!

Our Style
|
We sing and play a variety of styles - from conservative Christian to classically arranged to songs with a bluegrass flair. The children play all of our instruments including piano, violin, flute, mandolin, guitar, bass guitar, viola, cello and pennywhistle. In our ministry, we seek to present quality music for the entire family that will engage the listener's mind to the truth of God's Word. Since music itself helps to convey the message of a song, we strive to select the best music to present the message of Biblical truth.

About Us
|
We are a homeschooling family living in south-central Ohio on a small hobby farm. We have a large vegetable garden and raise animals to provide meat, milk, and eggs for our family. Everyone, including the young children, works together around the homestead helping the family. This sense of responsibility has helped us to gain confidence and taught us to work together as a team. As a family, we love to read good books, work hard, exercise, have fun together, listen to good music, and sing praises to Jesus!

What Got Us Started
|
In 2004, we purchased a CD of scripture songs: verses put to simple melodies. The young children would ask for those songs to be played over and over, and soon began singing them. We realized that Scripture put to music is easy for even young children to grasp and memorize. So in 2005, George's sister (Tracey Craig McKibben) composed melodies for 26 scripture verses/passages - one for each letter of the alphabet. We called them the ABC Scripture Songs.
After those 26 songs, we continued learning more scripture songs, choruses, and hymns by singing during family devotions each evening. As the children grew older, we began singing many different songs that we heard from various albums. The girls learned to play various instruments and worked hard at their music lessons. We met other families who were singing as a ministry, and felt that ministering through music was a way that our family could serve the body of Christ. The Lord has used many dear friends to inspire, encourage, and bless us. Music is a gift from God and we feel blessed to be able to share that gift with you! |
